College Preparation

At Schaeffer Academy, tenth grade students take the PLAN (a practice ACT/career advising test) and the PSAT, in preparation for the junior year National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Eleventh graders take the PSAT/NMSQT (Practice SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test).  The test is usually administered in mid-October. See the school calendar for details.

Seniors and Juniors also make on-site college visits during these two years, as well as receiving some college advising through the school.
